It's been an exciting month! Mario came and visited with Nintendo and we werefeatured on the radio in a story about how libraries are evolving! Our friend Chazshowed off his crib and we learned how to make tacos, salsa, and horchata from scratch. And we're not even a year old yet! The Mix is rapidly becoming a destination for high school teens looking for a place to learn, meet friends, and hang out. Help us spread the word to the teens in your life!
The Mix is turning one! Save the date for our first birthday party on
Saturday, June 18th. We'll have special all-ages hours
so that everyone can celebrate this exciting milestone with us!

Workshops

We host free workshops every day, from maker activities like sewing, cooking, and 3D printing, to film and audio production programs. We even have not just one, but two weekly poetry workshops. Check out our online calendar for more information about our drop-in programs, or download a  PDF of our April brochure!

Learn about future jobs and careers from people who are passionate about and excited to share their life experiences. Speakers come from diverse backgrounds and will talk about how they got to where they are now, including failures and achievements that happened along the way. Sponsored by Lowell High School's Community Oriented Applied Learning Club (COAL) and The Mix at SFPL.

Help Us Promote Summer at The Mix

It is our hope that The Mix will become the living room for Bay Area teens this summer. Help us get the word out!
  • Follow us on Instagram (@themixatsfpl) and encourage any teens you know to follow us to stay up-to-date about our programs.
  • Use the hashtag #themixatsfpl when you post about us on Twitter and Instagram. Posts with that hashtag automatically show up on the Made at the Mix page of our website and help to highlight the diversity of things happening in our space.
  • Forward this email to your colleagues who work with teens and encourage them to get involved and spread the word. They can sign up directly from our website (form is in the bottom right corner).
  • Share our monthly program brochure with teens!
