SCHOOLS CLOSED FRIDAY NOVEMBER 16, 2018

Dear SFUSD Community,

SFUSD schools, central offices and afterschool programs will be closed tomorrow, Friday, Nov. 16, due to ongoing concerns regarding air quality both inside and outside of schools and offices.

As you know, the air quality in the Bay Area has remained at red (unhealthy) throughout the week. Some staff and students have reported that the ongoing conditions have also contributed to poor air quality indoors.

We understand that closing schools places a burden on some of our families, and we want you to know that we have given this decision careful consideration.

All school sites will be closed for Thanksgiving Break and will reopen on Monday, Nov. 26. Central offices will be open next week Monday, Nov. 19 through Wednesday, Nov. 21.

Please stay safe.

Dr. Vincent Matthews, SFUSD Superintendent
